This revelation was quite interesting to me—especially given the fact that, prior to my arrival in America, I had not quite had an opportunity to see how important race was in defining America’s socioeconomic, political, and economic landscape. Witnessing the omnipresence of race in America, I wanted to learn more about it: how race manifested itself in all aspects of American life, what its current and historical discourses were, and what the everyday processes of dealing with race were, especially on a university campus.
If the discipline has these internal challenges, what real impact do these disturbances have on the way the discipline is organized and mobilized as a social science?
