Chapter 12 describes principles that have been developed for dealing with separation processes that consist of a large number of similar stages, and hence are applicable to all methods of isotope separation. 5 indicates that for isotopes of the light elements hydrogen, lithium, and boron, separation methods used or proposed include distillation, electrolysis, and chemical exchange.
